The Scout Zone

The ScoutParents Unit Coordinator, a new adult leadership position, is the "go-to" person for new parents.  They are responsible for orienting parents on the unit structure and benefits to the family, keeping parents up-to-date on unit programs and their child's role, and assigning parents a specific task in which they can support the unit.  Parents who are willing and able to commit to their Scout's unit are invited to become ScoutParents.

Some examples of support may be:

  • performing an occasional task to assist the unit's program

  • participating directly with your Scout

  • going to and observing Scout meetings

  • assisting with outings

  • supporting the program financially

  • coaching your Scout's advancement and earning of recognitions

  • influencing your Scout's continued participation
