Having the right gear is a big part of being successful on any Winter Outing. Here are some basic guides to gear you might need on a Winter Snow Outing.
Snow Saw
The Winter Skills Adventure Program custom makes our own Snow Saws. These work perfectly for the the snow structures we teach Scouts how to make. We recommend one saw per A-Frame Structure, and at least two per 2 man igloo.
Pulk
A pulk is a Scandinavian Gear Sled. Some of our WSAP Instructors use these to get our gear to our campsite. This piece of gear makes winter travels so much easier and allows you to bring gear you can’t normally haul on your back.
Stove System
A dependable Stove System is vital in the Winter. It is used to heat up your meals as well as make water from frozen snow.
