One of your Scouts is seriously injured on a 50-miler.
You are hours or even days from the trailhead.
Would you know what to do?
Would your Scouts?

Wilderness and Remote First Aid is a 16 hour course offered by the Mount Baker Council and certified by the Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI).  It is available for registered adult leaders and youth, age fourteen and older.  It meets the requirements mandated of units organizing a trek to one of the national high adventure bases (Philmont, Sea Base, Northern Tier or Summit Bechtel Reserve).  This course also fulfills the core first aid requirement for the Venturing Ranger Award.

The course is intended to serve as an educational resource for those involved in activities that take them to backcountry areas from which patients may not be able to be quickly evacuated and definitive medical care may be hours or days away.  It helps provide the knowledge and skills necessary to deal with these medical emergencies until more advanced care is available.

MUST ATTEND ALL SESSIONS TO COMPLETE COURSE

Cost:  $75.00

What is National Youth Leadership Training?

It is a six day experience conducted by the Mount Baker Council to provide each young man or woman a meaningful experience in Scouting that will enhance knowledge and create deeper understanding of his role and responsibilities as a leader.

NYLT integrates the best of modern leadership theory with the traditional strengths of the Scouting experience.  Through activities, presentations, challenges, discussions, and audio-visual support NYLT participants engage in a unified approach to leadership that gives the skill and confidence to lead well.
